Julieta Millán is a zoologist and data scientist from Argentina with over 7 years of experience in academia researching the molecular mechanisms of learning and memory, and has recently moved to the private sector to work as a data scientist. In 2024/25, she was the Regional Coordinator of the Open Knowledge Network Latin America Hub.
Sara Petti is a Project Manager at the Open Knowledge Foundation. She supports open source and open data communities, like the Frictionless Data one, and is passionate about all issues linked to community care and health, like governance.
Esther Plomp is a researcher at the Research Center of the University of Aruba and Open Science Community Member (The Turing Way, OLS, IsoArcH). In these roles, Esther facilitates a more equitable way of knowledge generation, encouraging others to working more transparently. In 2024/25, she was the Regional Coordinator of the Open Knowledge Network Europe Hub.
Why is it that these two worlds have similar values but barely seem to connect? While both aim to promote free access to information, they seem to do so by different types of peoples associated with the separate movements.
